Isle of May![]() David I founded a priory on the Isle of May which became a place of pilgrimage after the murder of St Adrian. The Old Lighthouse, built in 1636, was one of the first in Scotland. Today the island is popular with bird watchers who come to observe sea birds such as gannets and puffins. Boat trips to the island run regularly from Anstruther harbour during the summer months. |
