Located close to the B923, two miles east of Burntisland, this charming little loch is home to some excellent
specimen fish. Some very big pike and specimen-sized common and mirror carp have been caught here, and there
are rumours of good quality bream, although hard evidence is scarce.
On the north side of the loch is located the Craigencalt Farm Ecology Centre and Community Woodland, and the closely
associated boat launching area is a very popular location for anglers.

The sluice at the eastern end is also popular, giving long casts in towards the tree-lined southern shore, which
by any other means is basically unfishable due to the overgrown nature of the banks. The extreme north-western
corner is nature reserve and access is denied. However, the fishable and accessible area makes up more than
half the shoreline, and should meet potential demand.
Fife Council, who are the landlords, only permit evening fishing, due to the use of the loch as an educational
resource. Anglers are respectfully requested to adhere to this ruling.
