Golf in Fife
Fife offers over 40 courses that suit golfers of all abilities. Many courses are used as championship qualifiers, including Leven, Lundin Links, Scotscraig and Ladybank. Most famous of all is the Old Course at St Andrews, which played host to the Millennium Open Championship.
Winner of a Nobel Prize for Medecine, Sir James Black, was born in Cowdenbeath and studied at St Andrews University. He was awarded the prize for his role in the fight against heart disease.
