Golf in Fife
Fife offers over 40 courses that suit golfers of all abilities. Many courses are used as championship qualifiers, including Leven, Lundin Links, Scotscraig and Ladybank. Most famous of all is the Old Course at St Andrews, which played host to the Millennium Open Championship.
The title of John Buchan's adventure novel 'The 39 Steps' is said to have been inspired by the stairway beside Ravenscraig Castle which leads to the beach. Buchan lived in nearby Dysart as a child.
