Scottish Deer Centre
Scottish Deer Centre Tucked away in the heart of the Fife countryside lies a real gem of Scottish rural and environmental life. A visitor spending a day at the fifty-five acre Scottish Deer Centre will be surprised at the number and variety of species of deer on display. There are nine different species of deer on view, each with their own individual field or paddock.
Perhaps less well known, but equally spectacular is the variety of birds of prey also on view at the Deer Centre. At certain times of the year visitors can see thrilling demonstrations of these spectacular birds in flight. A visit to the very picturesque Scottish Deer Centre is a truly unique experience where the whole family is guaranteed to find something to enjoy. There are woodland trails, treetop walkways, inside shelter areas for the family picnic and children's play areas with climbing frames to amuse the youngsters.
The Deer Centre also caters for birthday parties, school groups and customised tours to suit any party. A qualified ranger will accompany the tour around the Centre, informing visitors of the most interesting details of the deer and pointing out the lesser-known facts about their management and husbandry.
Christmas time is a special occasion for the children at the Deer Centre, when the barns are bedecked in winter finery and Santa's reindeer are on view in Santa's Grotto. At this time the centre also presents many other children's attractions and displays. There are opportunities to feed the deer or pick-up a very informative education pack.
All the fresh air helps work-up a healthy appetite, so you will be glad to find that the on site restaurant is ready to serve you a wholesome variety of 'guid Scottish fare'. Before you leave you must take with you a beautiful memento of your visit from the well-stocked gift shop that is packed with a range of the most varied selection of Scottish produce. The very knowledgeable and enthusiastic team of rangers has ambitious and very interesting plans to develop the range of attractions at the Deer Centre and is preparing many new initiatives for next season that will expand the quality of the whole visitor experience.
